Day 490: Drifting Along

So I can adequately inform the next iteration of Drift from New Atlantis Audio I used patches that were only in that refill today.  Came out very, very ambient.

Day 489: Ten Days Left

I'm pretty tired right now, so I don't have much time for commentary.

I will say that this was done mostly using sounds from New Atlantis Audio.

Day 476: Haiku

Third entry into the Naviar Haiku project.

I imagined the sun rising on an alien world and the day beginning.  Initially there are only a few things moving around, but with a few minutes life awakens and goes about its day, exploring, eating, hunting, hiding, doing what ever it does.

Day 447: Sickly

So I'm looking after two sickly little boys today.  I believe they also may have infected me with
whatever virus they have.  Stomach is torn up, am not hungry, felt feverish earlier.  Being sick is shit.


In other news, I'm trying to continue and make patches for the New Atlantis Audio User Library.  This track features a glitchy drum kick from the Glas refill.

Day 442: Sleep for none

Went back to working with NAA patches.  Created one more and sent another batch to the User Library site.  This piece also relies heavily on pieces from the Miroslav Strings and Nine Volt Audio patches.

I will continue to operate based on the faith that this project will lead to something.  Truthfully, it has.  I've had a few projects that wouldn't have happened if I had not been doing this, or at least, would have been less likely to have happened.  That itself is justification for me to keep going.  If I don't do it this way I'll still be creating something every day.  At least this way I have a rudder.

Day 440: Glitch Electro Ambient Noise Recording

Still working with NAA stuff and creating patches.  Here I wanted to try and create a patch that had a lot of the same effects that are created using Buffre, by Peff, but without actually using any rack extensions.  With a little bit of thinking around the problem I managed to come up with a close approximation.  A fun little experiment.

Day 439: 440

New Atlantis Audio is now sharing user-created patches via the site.  I'm kind of making them like crazy.  This work and tomorrow's will feature almost solely these new patches.   I'm trying to be ultra-creative, but still keep it musical.  So far, so good, I think.

Day 438: Mixing it Up (with mixed Precipitation)

This piece is another go at working with Drift by New Atlantis Audio.  It's kind of awash in ambient-ness, but you know, you get the idea.

Day 437: Drifter

Just playing with Drift, a new Refill from New Atlantis Audio.

Day 429: In the Jungle again... the wood jungle... I mean, the real jungle... aww hell

Still exploring those oh so awesome Refills from New Atlantis Audio.

This track started as a goof around, but turned into something that I quite like.

Day 428: NYC

Using several kong's from the Krush Refill from New Atlantis Audio.  They are each named after a NYC borough and they all have a very unique character.  Subtle, but unique.  It made me instantly feel like I was in New York.

The piano is from the Abbey Road Refill.  It's the "Mrs. Mills" piano from Abbey Road studios.

Day 427: Welcome to Atlantis

Playing with new toys here, with a little assistance from Henry.  He was kind of randomly hitting keys while I was trying to record.  It added a nice texture and a bit of unexpected beauty, so I kept it.

Day 424: For the fame

I'm a big fan of New Atlantis Audio's Refills, so when they came out with the MD16 Refill I bought it immediately.

Day 400: Silently

On this most auspicious day, the beginning of 500 days, I am attempting to make music that is more "organic".  Not necessarily being less electronic, just using some more accepted sounds.

This one takes advantage of sounds by New Atlantis Audio and Propellerheads.

Today is December 31st, 2013.  This is the last piece I will post for the year 2013.  I hope you like it.

I've enjoyed the time we've spent together this year and I look forward to seeing you again in 2014.
