Day 294: Someone is a liar

It's been awhile since I've had more than just a moment or two to actually type anything as a blog entry.  For the last 10 days I've worked my day job and it's been driving me crazy.  Finally a day to relax, which really just means to clean house and do laundry.  I'm getting to spend time with the kids today, so that's great.  I've missed my boys.

Day 293: Stutttttter

Sometimes a piece comes together from just a few simple elements.  This is one of those pieces.

Day 292: Sticks and Instruments

Earlier today I was listening to the band Clogs. If you aren't familiar with them you should go check them out now. They make really interesting instrumental music. In particular, the album "Stick Music". That inspired today's piece.

Day 289: Louder and Louder

This is an experimental electronic piece.  It's noisy and weird and awesome.  If you don't like it, then you might be normal.  Used Tritone on the guitars here.  It works really well for guitar distortion that isn't over the top.

Day 288: Quick Vidya game

A short piece, done quickly, that ended up sound like it belongs in a video game from 2004.  Please enjoy.

A hodge-podge experiment trying several different things at once.

Day 284: In a Hurry, as Always

I hate rushing.  I hate not having enough time.  Today is just another one of those days due to constant interruption.  By constant, I mean every two minutes or so, literally.

Day 282: Short

Didn't see Sigur Ros.  I'm not happy.  Not happy at all.

Day 281: Birfday

I didn't even think about making it to my birthday when I started this thing.  Well, here we are.  My youngest son is sick today, tonight I see Sigur Ros perform, and we have 282 days of music.

I think that's pretty damn cool.

Vocals are intentionally buried in the mix.  Trying something different with routing and with Tritone + Thor.

Day 274: Playing in the Forest

Using Forester and Tritone on this track.  I automated Tritone randomly to see what kind of result would occur.   Thought it came out ok.  There was a little bit of editing also.

Day 273: Making the Olde Music

Tritone + SH-32 + 707 + me = this music.

I know what you're thinking and yes, it IS a complicated formula.

Day 272: Tritone + SH-32

I wanted to try and push the distortion to unmusical level using Tritone.  I simultaneously wanted an excuse to use the new SH-32 refill by Patrick Sharpe.  I don't think the distortion sounds unmusical, but it does sound awesome.

Day 271: Dark, Noisy, and Not Sure how to escape

Still beta-testing Tritone.  This piece was done using some cool software by Leafcutter John.  The name of the software is Forester. Tritone is doing the additional coloring.

Day 268: Along these lines

I don't really have a lot of experience with people involved with heavy drug use, so the lyrics to this track are completely baseless.  Just some words I made up basically.

Day 266: Electronic Swirling Madness

Still beta-testing tritone and trying to find places it fits nicely.  I'm making combinators using it and trying to make patches... lots and lots of patches.

Another day of testing.  The difference that this plug-in (Tritone) makes on the drums alone is pretty incredible.
